Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

Hi, i have been married to a US citizen for about 3 years. 8 months after we got married we went to my 1st immigration interview, everything went fine and i got a 2 year green card. Recently i filled for my 10 year green card and they are calling us for a 2nd interview. Our marriage is real, and we live a normal life. Why would we have to go for a 2nd interview so long after we have been married?

Thanks

If the USCIS had scheduled you for another interview, you and your spouse both have to attend. You have no choice. You have to take proof of a bona fide marriage: photos, joint financials and taxes, evidence of joint residence, kids' birth certificates, etc.

For most couples, the USCIS doesn't t scheduled the interview when a couple files a joint petition I-751. However, sometimes they do. It could be because you didn't submit suffient supporting evidence with your application, form I-751, or for some other legitimate reason.

When you are married less than 3 years to the U.S. Citizen spouse, they give you conditional residence. Upon filing the I-751 petition to remove the conditions, it is common to have a second interview. As stated above, it is usually to update the continued ongoing bona fides of the relationship. So, you must attend this interview.

Did you attend your first interview in Orlando? Did you have an attorney present with you last time?
