Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

My mom's case has been approved, (sponsorship of a relative) & has received her immigrant visa. What are the procedure upon arrival to the United States? My mom wanted to know if it is necessary to stay with me when she arrives here or if she can rent an apartment or stay at a hotel? Will they going to scrutinize her for that?
