Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
I am a natural US citizen and would like to marry my girlfriend who is in the US on a J1 Visa from Belarus.. What hardship will we face if we get married now? Is there any situation were waiting will benifit us, example different Visa status?

Well, the primary issue for her will be if she is subject to the Two Year Home Residency Requirement. Many J-1 Visas are subject to this. It may be noted on her visa stamp in her passport, or it may not (in which case we'll have to look at who sponsored her for the J-1).
Seeking a Waiver of the 2 Year Home Residency Requirement can be extremely complex. So, I would be sure to consult an experienced immigration attorney.
The first question you shall ask: whether your girlfriend has a 2-year home residency requirement attached to her J-1 visa?
If not, then you should be able to apply for her adjustment of status immediately following the marriage. If yes, then this condition has to be either met or waived by the government.
I have assisted many clients from Belarus, and myself I'm originally from Belarus and speak fluent Russian.

You may apply for her lawful permanent residency as long as she is not subject to the 2 year home residency requirement.
