Stolen Trailer on Someone Else's Property
I had a trailer stolen from church property while doing a show for the church. The church claims that their insurance will not cover it. I was told it was okay to leave my trailer there. Is the church responsible for the theft along with the booker of the show?

Re: Stolen Trailer on Someone Else's Property
A landowner is not responsible for the theft of your property unless they did something wrong. For instance, if they told you that it was safe to park your trailer there but knew at the time that three trailers had been stolen from the lot last week, then you would have a claim. That being said, however, the mear fact that the property was stolen from their lot does not make them liable for your loss. The need to have done something wrong.
