Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Florida

I am starting a new business. Trouble is I want to use a name for an identical business that is located out of the country - in Singapore to be exact. Can I do this? I unfortunately found out about them on the internet.

Maybe, maybe not. Intellectual property rights are country-specific, with limited exception. If the business in Singapore does business in the US, you may have a problem; or if your business will be international, you may have a problem. Moreover, it is not clear whether the issue will be business name only or trademark name or both. I suggest you retain an IP/business attorney who is familiar with international IP/business to review your exact situation before proceeding.
