Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Back Pay Question

I was employed by a local pest control company for 2 years during which time we were required to work every 5th Saturday. We recieved no extra pay for working this Saturday. I recently found out that this company was told by it's payroll company that this was not legal and that the company must pay it's employees for working this extra day. My question is, do I have a right to demand back pay for the Saturday's that I worked and was not paid for? I worked for this company from July 2nd, 2002 until July 1st, 2004.

Re: Back Pay Question

Possibly. The overtime regulations recently changed. It may be that it is only under the new rules that you are entitled to the pay. But if you were entitled to it under the old rules, then you would have a legitimate backpay claim.

I would need more info to know for sure. Feel free to call or email directly and we can discuss it.
