Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

draw against commission

Am I responsible to pay back draws against commission if I have been fired? After being employed for two months with $2,000 a month draw. I worked 45 - 50 hours a week and made no sales. I have received a letter stating that I must pay back $4,000 by next month. Please advise.

Re: draw against commission

The answer to your question depends on the terms of your contract. Read your contract -- it should be in there. Typically, a "draw" is an advance against earnings.
