Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Employee contract

A dog boarding facility I no longer

work for made me sign an agreement

stating that I would not be allowed to

work for another dog related business

for 1 year. The hours she had me

work were not what we discussed,

which is also written in the document

she had me sign, the dates I had

agreed to for the first week. She

added more dates for me to work,

which were not on the agreement. I

have also seen them hit & yell at the

dogs. These are some of the reasons

why I left after only working for

about 1 week. I would like to work

for another dog boarding facility. Is

this document legal? If I do work for

another dog related business, what

action can she take? Does this sound

like she breached her own contract?

Re: Employee contract

The document sounds legal. Sounds like it had no provision for you quiting upon a breach of the employment agreement. If you work for another dog business, she could sue you and the other business.
