Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Employee rights

I am currently in a very hostile working environment. I have been a victim of harrassment on several occasions. My first boss told my co-worker that he wishes he could put a bullet through may brain. I went to HR and nothing was done. The last manager used to make sexual comments and threatening statements. After several complaints to HR, they said they would do an internal investigation. He ended up screaming and walking out. Last Friday I was put on probation for being late. I was not late and did not violate company policy. I have proof. I am also recieving sexual letters from a freelance editor in my mailbox here at work. I have complained to HR and they complimented him on his grammer. I am being ousted by my News Director and I need help. I have worked for two years with no lunch break for 10-11 hours per day. I have a right to work here, I have never been in trouble for my job performance. Do you think I can get some protection. My boss wants to fire me.

Re: Employee rights

It sounds like your employer may be violating both Federal and Florida statutes concerning sexual harassment, retaliation, and whistleblowing, as well violations for failure to pay overtime. There are very short deadlines to file complaints in these kinds of cases, so you should consult an attorney immediately.
