Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Hello,
I am a training manager at a call center and have been a strong performer at my company for six years.
Two weeks ago my manager and director proposed a meeting. At the meeting, they presented to me that I needed to leave my current position as I was not performing to expectation. This was a complete shock to me. My December review was solid, and as recently as Feb 19, I had a conversation that I everything was fine. I was not on a performance plan or signed any documentation that I was aware in the past something was wrong. I believe I am not being treated fairly, and it is motivated by the change in politics.
They will not terminate me. If I leave it will be my resignation. They have offered to pay tuition for a program I am enrolled in that was previously approved by our tuition reimbursement policy. To receive the money, I am required to sign a 6 page release form. I am concerned to sign the document without legal consultation. Thank you.

it's impossible to give you legal consultation without having the benefit of reviewing the release document. You should take the actual document you are being asked to sign to an attorney for review.
You definitely need to have a lawyer review the document before signing it. Feel free to call my office if you desire to have it reviewed, we offer flat fees or such documents reviews.
