Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
I went home early from work due to illness. My condition progressed and I went to the Dr. My doctor put me immediately on bed rest, (no working). I called my Health insurance company and completed all the paperwork for short term disability. I called my employer to tell them I was taking a leave of absence for health reasons. Four hours later I get a phone call from my Boss stating I was fired for "Falsification of work documents". My question is "Do I have any legal recourse?'

Depending upon how long you worked for the company and the number of employees you could have claims for violation of the Family Medical Leave Act or Americans with Disabilities Act or the Florida Civil Rights Act. You probably want to contact a lawyer to discuss further. Feel free to check out our employee legal rights blog www.takethisjobnshoveitblog.com or website www.behrenlaw.com.
