Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
labor law
as a carpenter crew leader on a navy base project i made the call to report workers for selling drugs / use . after doing so one of the office staff directly informed the persons of what i did, leading to threats against myself then my wife. when i confronted the staff i was told that i should have expected this and that '' we are all adults here, to drug test them all would cause us to lose 90% of the workers and it would be better to terminate me'' do i have any recourse here?

That was an unfortunate and, I think, stupid way of handling the issue and certainly does not in the future encourage anyone to report dangerous (and illegal drug use) on the worksite. I don't believe that you have any legal recourse against the government. You can probably get a restraining order against thse that are threatening you. I would encourage you to go over the head of the idiot staff person who "ratted" you out to the drug dealers and apparently believed that these "adults" would not be upset about that.
