Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Hello, My name is Susanne, I work for a for-profit post secundary school called Everest. I will be having surgery soon for my chronic tonsilitis and adenoiditis conditions. I've had 2 appointments in the past, and will 2 more withing next week. My boss told me that I have to call in sick if I need to go to the appointmenst. That i cannot go to the appointments and then return to work and keep on with my day. He says I either go to appointments on my free time or call in sick. Is this legal? Arent the appointments pre-ops part of the FMLA rights?
Thanks.

Not really sure whey your employer would not let you take a 1/2 sick day. IF you have over 50 employees been working full time for at least a year for employer you could try to claim intermitent FMLA.
