Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Unemployment compensation

I was fired form my last job for slow sales it's a telemarketing job. I applied for and received unemployment. This was last October and I just got a notice for a hearing by phone tomorrow morning at 11:00AM because the employer has decided to dispute that I was fired for reasons other than misconduct and have 2nd thoughts re my unemployemnt which was about 1450, and the notice stated if they find against me I am liable for the entire amopunt. I refuse to pay it as I did nothing wrong, did my job, did not get enough sales, was fired, and received unemployment, as was my right, until I found another job. Please advise, I have no one, I am 60 years old and live in a 40 year old trailer in a park and my car is 11 years old; I have nothing of value.

Re: Unemployment compensation

Be sure to go to the hearing. If you know anyone else who can verify why your were fired, see if they can come to the hearing with you to testify.
