Violation of Privacy regarding SICK NOTE

I faxed a sick note in from my doctor and knew that there would be speculation because it was from an OB/GYN doctor. The next day I received a call from a fellow employee saying that there was talk that I was off work because I just had an abortion. What are my rights here? I haven't been back to work and know that things will definitely not be the same for me. I already mentioned it to a supervisor and he is aware of the fact that it has already caused me emotional distress

It depends on how the empoloyee found out about the fact that your note was from an OB/GYN. You may have an invastion of privacy claim. Additional facts would have to be discussed. If you would like to call my office, I will be happy to speak with you.
