Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I work at Sunglass Hut as a part-time associate. While I am pretty sure the company has a break policy, it has never been explained to any of the associates. Therefore, most of the time anyone is scheduled a shift, they may get little to no break. What are the Florida laws on break time at work. Also, in the past, an associate who has worked for Sunglass Hut was taken off of the schedule and given no hours without cause. When the associate approached management as to whether or not she was fired or would ever be placed back on the schedule again, she was never given a formal answer and was told she was not fired. She was never given any hours again, but not formally let go. This instance is happening again, but now with me. What are the laws on this?

If they say you are not fired but won't give you hours, they are trying to keep you from claiming unemployment. Person should probably quit and then claim unemployment. If they fight the unemployment, then fight it with a lawyer. If you want to learn more about your employee legal rights check out www.takethisjobnshoveitblog.com.
