Working, and manditory hurricane evacuations

If the area you live in has a manditory evacuation and the company says they will pay you for it then makes you work overtime without ot pay to make up the time, is that legal. The company was without power for 3 1/2 days. My job needs a computer and phone to do the job as we deal in faxes. I was in the area and could have worked and did 1 1/2 days in my home. Is there anything that states what the employers obligations are in times like this?

If you worked overtime (meaning more than 40 hours in a week), then the law may very well require that your employer pay you time and a half for all overtime hours worked--and this is obviously hurricane or no hurricane. Unfortunately, there are no greater or different requirements in the event of a hurricane.
