fl notice of termination of lease 72 hour apply?
My student daughter signed a lease to rent an apt in Tallahassee on 3/22. Next day we discover safety issues as to gunshots and other problems consistent at property. We want to terminate lease (to begin 8/22) now. Does three day rights apply here? Any suggestions? Mgmt is not helpful and said she is obligated for entire lease and cannot get out of it.

There is no three day right of cancellation for a lease. None, unless it is expressly in the contract (and I have never seen one). Generally speaking, once you have signed it, you are stuck. You may be able to negotiate a cancellation charge, but they have the upper hand here. Next time, do your research in advance. If you cancel now and they are able to rerent, then there will be no damages and you will be fine. If they cannot rerent, you will be on the hook.
