Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

January of 2009 I moved in with a roomate to our own apartment in Orange Park, FL. By April 2009 I moved out and let her stay with some of my stuff until she moved out when the lease was up. It is now 5 months after the lease is up and she wont answer my calls or emails about needing to get my stuff back. I unfortunatly live in Cocoa FL and cant just get up and go all the way to Orange Park FL to visit her and tell her face to face. I want to know if her keeping my stuff and not returning it is illegal and if I can sue her for it. Or atleast if theres other measures I can take to get all of my stuff back...perhaps the police??

Did she keep your property because you owe her rent? If she is still at the unit, and you left on good terms, I suggest you go and get your things. You may have to prove what is yours - take receipts in case the police need to be involved.
