my boyfriend moved out we have a two year lease is he still responsible he also said if he left the state it broke the lease and he was not responsible to pay is it true

No. It is untrue. He is responsible as are you to the landlord. You should pay the rent and then seek to recover from him either in small claims court (if under 5,000) or county/circuit court. If you would like to discuss further, please call my office.
