Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Want to rent my house to a friend that is disabled

A friend of mine has become disabled (this is a mental disability). I have a house that is near her primary caregiver.

She has just been approved for SSDI. How do I set up renting to her at the level she can afford?

Her allowance is well below my mortgage payment amount - but the economy being what it is - that is fine - though I am not very well off myself.

Is there some way to off-set some of the difference?

Will SSDI need to inspect the house?

How can I protect her and myself in a rental agreement?

She will get so little money that taking 1/3 doesn't seem right.

I want her to be able to live there as long as she wants, but I also don't know how long I can afford the extra payment.

Letting her get settled and uprooting her could be very devastating to her state.

Her primary care-giver has exhausted the majority of her savings taking care of her while she waited to get approved for disability, so she is unable to contribute towards her rent.

What is the best approach to this?

These are not really legal questions. SSDI will not need to inspect the place. Charge her what you think is fair and what she can afford. Be sure to put your agreement in writing.
