Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I need to know what rights i have as an individual at a 55 and older park where I've been asked to vacate my home. I was given a 7 day verbal to a 30 day notice to vacate the home. My son and his girlfriend robbed people in my community, I turned them in, had them arrested, and 6 days later the manager told me she was giving me a 7 day verbal notice of a 30 day written notice that we had to vacate, which I never received. She told me there were emails sent to corporate office (6 emails she said), and that she was flooded with phone calls, etc. over the incident. I am a victim of their crimes as well, and I was the one who cooperated with police, and now am losing my home of 5 years. She kept saying that she had to protect her community, and then when I argued the point she changed the reason to the fact that my 2 grandchildren live with me. They do not. The only people who actually live at our address are my husband, my 86+ year old mother, and me. I have swimsuits, extra clothes, and toys for my 4 grandchildren at my house, but none of them live with us.They have a physical address in Holly Hill Florida, but are with me while their dad works. I am being told that there is a Florida Statute 522. that states they cannot be here more than 30 calendar days in a year. There are other people in this park who have their grandchildren here all the time as well, one in particular has her grandchildren every friday. One couple have their adult children living with her. One lady just passed and her 38 year old son is staying and there are several YOUNG people staying with them. There is a girl who is 20 something floating between two houses staying with one then the other. There is a very young couple living here with an infant, as well as quite a few who are in violation to the park's rules, such as dogs here over the 25 lb. limit etc. I feel we are being singled out, not because of the children, but because of what my child did. Please let me know if I have a lawsuit.
