Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I wanted to know if an apartment complex can charge you for a prorate fee for the lifestyle of a carpet? I was told by my previous ladlord that the damage to the carpet was $150.00. But they are trying to charge me $964.00 life cycle of the carpet (5 years - 60 months), is this possible?

YOu should not be paying anything for carpet unless there is extreme damage. Carpet is considered part of the normal wear and tear exception when asking for refund of a deposit.
