Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida

While I was in jail my attorney (now fired) had me sign a Power of Attorney not notarized in front of me and proceeded to sell everything I had of value. Boat, cars ,motorcycle,car trailer, and children`s toys, in order to pay his fee on a federal case and he`s not a member of the fed. bar. Is this legal ?

It sounds very, very fishy, but it doesn't violate any criminal law. What concerns me the most is that this attorney took your case and is not a member of the federal bar in which your case is located. You may want to speak with the Florida Bar.
