Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

Severe post partum emmorag due to ob/gyn pullingon placenta byumbilical cord

After vaginal delivery of my daughter, the on call ob/gyn ;inpatient for the spontaneous delivery of the placenta pulled on the umbilical cord. Two hours after delivery I suffered a severe post partum hemmorage, rushed to the OR, requiring 4 blood transfusions a d&C,intrauteral medications, generl anestesia, etc. Minutes from a total hysterectomy at age 26, I finally responded to medications and transfusions.Pathology studies revealed the reason for hemmorage was placental tissue remaining in the uterus. Also I sustained a laceration that went unnoticed until too late for repair. I have eye witnesses ,medical records, and video tape noting that she pulled the umbilical cord. She also was very rude durng my delivery, Did an internal exam after delivery denying me pain medication while manually scraping out my uterus. And gave only sarcastic answers when asked about the procedures performed in the OR and reason for bleeding. Myself, my husband and family are horrified for me to have another child. Do I have a malpractice case considering I have mental distress and not physical ailments resulting from her actions?

Often malpractice happens but legal action does not follow due to lack of damages. You would need to prove how you have been hurt to a jury. Pain and sufferring is difficult to prove without some type of "hard damages" you may want to go to www.florida-malpractice-lawyers.com and read up on the law. Good luck.
