Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Auto Accident Injury

My husband was recently in an auto accident. As a result of the impact, his seat belt caused a hernia in his groin. He was taken into surgery the day afer the accident to mend the hernia. He owns his own construction business and his job requires heavy lifting as well as a list of other physical activities which he is now denied. He also cannot play with our children now nor can he pick up our baby.

The other party's insurance has already admitted fault and is paying his hospital bills. Is he also entitled to compensation for pain and suffering? Also, is there such a thing as a settlement for future wages lost since he cannot perform his normal work duties? And is there such a thing as settlement for loss of quality of life? He was the most active and healthy person I know and now he is always bent over in pain?

Re: Auto Accident Injury

Thank you for your inquiry and sorry about your husband's accident. Yes; if your husband has sustained a permanent injury as a result of another's negligence in a car accident he is entitled to pain and suffering as well as past and future medical bills and past and future lost earnings and earnings capacity which would include the losses his business has sustained; and yes he is entitled to be compensated for the decreased capacity to enjoy life which is one of the many components which make up his pain and suffering claim. If you do not yet have an attorney please feel free to contact me for a free consultation and to further discuss your husband's rights. Although I am in South Florida, I represent injured people all over the state and even outside the state and outside the country. You can learn more about myself and my practice by visiting my web site @ www.santamarialaw.net. Best wishes.I look forward to hearing from you.
