Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

while at high school soccer practice at a near by county park my 15 year old daughter threw a water bottle at her backpack a girl sitting nearby sat up at the same time laughing as the water bottle passed by it grazed her tooth breaking it.

all was fine until about ten days later when the girl finally went to dentist and found out it was now infected and she needs a root canal and it will cost $1200.00. The mother said my daughter is respossible and I should come up with some portion of the money. Am I legally responsible?
