Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Can I get a lawyer after 3 months past accident ?

My daughter was involed in an accident 3 months ago and is still haing back pain. We did not realize that her pain would still be a problem. Can we still get a lawyer now? The medical bills are piling up and we can't keep track of them. The car she was in was totalled. Her insurance covers 80 % and the other insurance company agreed to pay the other 20 but there so many bills from other doctors we are scared that we will end up paying. Her chiroprator now wants an MRI done on her back.

Yes. If you can prove a serious injury (permanent) she will have a significant claim to pursue. Take her for the MRI. Good luck.

Re: Can I get a lawyer after 3 months past accident ?

Absolutely. You should contact an attorney right away. When the other driver's insurance company tells you they will cover the other 20% of her medical bills they are probably trying to get off cheap knowing that she is not represented by an attorney. They may very well be liable for far more than just the remaining 20% of the medical bills. I urge you to have your daughter contact an attorney right away.

Positively. If the other driver's insurance company is offering to cover the 20% differential, it may be indicative that they believe that their exposure is far greater and they are hoping for a quick - and cheap settlement.

Most attorneys will offer a free consultation for any personal injury matter. I strongly urge you to contact an attorney prior to reaching any agreement with your insurance company or the other driver's.
