Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Personal Injury

In the state of Florida, what is the time limit after a personal injury, in which a claim can be filed against the negligent party?

I am a resident of Georgia and was in Orlando on June 27, 2005 when I slipped on a puddle of water in the Florida Mall resulting from water leaking from a skylight in the roof. They have admitted to being liable, but are delaying a settlement that is only covering my medical bills and very minimal expenses.

Thank you for your time.
