Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida
I am renting house in fl and part of garage ceiling fell on me because gargare door was shaking on the way down .I fell on both my knees which i have also hurt before so my knees almost always hurt but not this bad .The landlord has been great becuase my wife is sick filing for ssdi and he has been working with us on the late rent but it just is a matter of time before we have to move or told to leave.I just want i little advise on what to do , he could say it did this to get out of rent or something.I do have pictures of the garage ceiling spots wear it is coming lose.Thank You Tom T

You cannot use the incident as leverage to maintain a reduction or delay in paying rent unless it is agreed to in writing by the landlord. If you want to make a personal injury claim you need to do that. Increase in pain alone won't justify the claim. You will need to show additional physical changes to the knee related to the incident. You also need to show failure to use reasonable care by the landlord. Seek legal guidance.
