Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

vehicular homicide

I lent a friend at the time my vehicle to go home and help his girlfriend with their dog who was dying. He proceeded to drive with reckless abandone and got in an accident, killing the other driver.

I am now being sued along with him by the family of the deceased for millions of dollars. Is there any good samaritan law which may save me?

Re: vehicular homicide

No. The owner of a vehicle that lends it to another is responsible for the injuries that person causes. There are limitations in the amount that can be recovered, but you do remain liable.
