background checks
we purchased a mobile home in an adult community in florida. the park does a credit/background check. how far back does the background check go? i have felony conviction in new jersey from 1982. will that prevent us from being approved to live in that park?

The criminal part of the background check goes back forever, so the conviction could be a problem for you. But, back then, computers weren't so good, so they probably won't catch it. It wasn't until the late 80's that convictions were thoroughly recorded in computer databases, and New Jersey was one of the first states to begin.
