Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
We bought a home 2 hours from our old home. We went to a local real estate company to sell it. They said they don't service that far away so they will have an agent thru know down there go and take pictures and so the showings. The day she came to do the pictures and get our keys, she said she knew a girl that might want it. She brought her over and she wanted it. Now we have to pay 4% to our realtor and 3% to her. Is that legal and legitimate? It seems like they are double dipping. Thank you

7% total real estate commission is not high. It is the norm. The split is appropriate as well. Normally these agreements are codified in an written document. Did you sign such a document? That should be reviewed.
