Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

My husband and i are the caretakers of the property which was forclosed on asn we are still here because we have a lease. The new property management company (for the bank) has been told, in writing and otherwise) that we have two tenants here with leaking roofs. One of those two tenants has told us today that he's planning to contact a lawyer. Can my husband and i held liable since we have been complainibng to the new management company since at least 5 months ago. (Yes, we have a papaer trail of our concerns) and we have even contacted the bank itself since we felt our concerns have fallen on deaf ears.
