Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I owned a condo in which we sold in 2005. We recordered a signed deed with the court that was notified and signed by a witness. 7 years later we receive a letter that we are being sued by the HOA for late fees for the past 6 months. The Attorney states that the Deed was improperly notified, voiding the deed. Any suggestions on how I should proceed?
