Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Property Lien

I've defaulted on a home equity loan, began in 8/1995 for 10 years, maturing in 2005. My last payment was 12/1998. Since 1998 there has been no contact from the bank and it was shown as a bad debt writeoff. Per FL statute it now appears unenforceable. Can I have this lien removed?
