Rights after signing Quit Claim Deed...

My husband bought our home with a now ex-girlfriend of his, with both names being listed on the mortgage. When they split up, she signed a Quit Claim deed, but the house was never re-financed. My husband has to travel extensively for work and I would like to know what rights the ex-girlfriend still has to the property? Can she show up (she lives out of state now) and throw my children and I out?

No. If she signed a quitclaim, she has no ownership in the home. She may still be on the mortgage, but she's not on the deed. There are few things stupider than signing a quitclaim without getting yourself off the mortage by sale or refinance, but people do it all the time.
