Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

start of foreclosure

We are at the start of foreclosure. No payment for about 8months. It was temporary, however we are now getting things caught up and are able to make the payments but being behind this far, we dont have the full payment of all 8mnths. Now being in the start of foreclosure, is it possible we can save our home and how much hope do we have.

Re: start of foreclosure

You likely have several options. Currently, most banks are eager to restructure your payment plan and you may even be able to lower your monthly payments. Each lender handles these situations differently, so check with your lender.

If you have been served with foreclosure papers, you must make sure that you respond to the complaint within 20 days in order to avoid a default. IF you need help with this you should consult an attorney for assistance. The Florida Bar offers a program for folks who can't afford legal services in their efforts to save their homes.

There are also additional options at your disposal if needed.
