Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My father is dying, I'm his only child, he has had nothing to do with me for 49 years. Will his wife be entitled to everything or am I entitled to anything, I don't think I'm in the will but I don't know for sure???? He lives in Royal center IN....

First, in lives in Indiana, Indiana law applies. Florida law does not.

If he helps, some states like Florida you can disinherit a child. In others, you can't. A lot depends upon the laws of the state, and if there is a Will, what the Will says.

It depends on Indiana law and whether he has a Last Will & Testament in which he named you as a beneficiary. If he does not have a Will, then your father's estate will pass to his heirs at law. You can look up who his heirs will be under Indiana intestacy laws. A Florida probate court would only administer the estate of a local resident.
