question about estate check

Hi, My Mother died in January and got back a check from her health insurance for $897.00 yet it is made out to the Estate in her name. She has a regular banking savings account still and a trust account. Can we deposit this check to either one of her trust account on her savings account ?Please let us know what we can do on this matter . Thanks much !Jane

Re: question about estate check

The check should be deposited into the probate account -- although as a pratical matter -- the bank may accept it and it mak all end up in the same place. Technically, it should be placed in the probate checking account.
