Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
Trustee Responsiblity
My father died in 1997 and left $200,000 to me. My uncle is the trustee and i believe that only about $40,000 is left. When i am 18 i get the money to spend on my education, but i doubt by that time there will be much left. Are there any legal rights i have to find out the exact amount left in the trust and where the money has gone? And if i find some kind of foul play what rights would i have to go agaisnt my uncle in court?

Re: Trustee Responsiblity
You should request an accounting from your uncle to see where the money has gone. If the money was squandered outside what is allowed per the Trust Agreeemnt or cominlged with personal funds, then you should consult an attorney in your area to pursue an action. If your uncle violated the Trust Agreement or his fiduciary duties as a Trustee then you may be able to file a petiton to remove him as Trustee and an action to recover funds wrongfully spent. Good luck to you.

If he is guilty of bad faith you certainly have rights. You or your attorney need to see a copy of the trust agreement to determine what authority he had.
