Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Unclaimed Inheritance

I was told by my Aunt that my Grandmother left me some ''jewlery'' when she died. She lived in Florida, I in NY. I didn't call the lawyer at the time. Since then, I have been told that my inheritance is lost and no longer mine. Is this true? Don't I have any legal right to property left to me by my Grandmother? Why didn't her estate lawyer contact me personally?

Please help. I really would like to see what my Gramma left me.

Thanks!

Re: Unclaimed Inheritance

You are entitled to the jewelry if your grandmother had it at the time of her death and provided in her Will that you were entitled to it.

Did you receive a letter from the lawyer?; check with him (or her) and demand to be informed of the disposition of your inheritance.
