Ongoing Medical Care in Settled Claim

I notified WC of temporary relocation to Germany, asking for reciprocal care. Having none, I continued treatment out of pocket. Sent translated claims as directed by them, which they said they might honour all or part. Received instead a request for medical settlement. Declined ''until my return to US''. As they directed me, I informed them of my projected date of return. Upon return to Texas for care at previous provider, after over a month or ignored contacts by my doctor's office, was declined as ''closed''. My physical condition stabilized and improved under German Doctor and Physical therapist's care, began to deteriorate and pain to return.

Texas WC suggested a Medical Necessity exam, which I would pay for, which I did. I also followed up my visit to the doctor with a letter to Cigna in Florida. This was in December. No response to date. HELP

Re: Ongoing Medical Care in Settled Claim

Need more information. What state did the accident occur, Florida or Texas? This will make a big difference as to your relative rights and obligations. Either way, you should contact a workers' compensation specialist in the state where you were injured immediately, as there may or may not be a way to argue against the statute of limitations defense on your claim.
