Legal Question in Banking Law in Georgia
Case against Wachovia
My wife and I received our bank statement from Wachovia and on it were the bank account numbers and balances of several other very high balance accounts that didn't belong to us. When we called them to ask them why they were giving people's account numbers and balances they said thats never happened before and rushed us off the phone. My wife fears that our banking information may fall in someone elses hands as several other peoples account information fell into ours. I can fax you a copy of the bank statement with the account numbers, account types, and balances if you need it. Do we have a case against Wachovia or should we just let this alone and what would be involved?

Re: Case against Wachovia
You may not have case, but those individuals whose information was disclosed may have a case against Wachovia.
If you want to pursue this further, as a possible class action, you should consult with an experienced consumer lawyer. If you received those individuals' information, it is likely the system is flawed and is violating banking customers' privacy rights.
Again, the best attorney to consult is a consumer lawyer who handles banking matters. Look on the website of the National Association of Consumer Advocates. The website has a list of experienced attorneys who may be able to further assist you.

I am not sure what you think you have a case for? Lawsuits are not filed for something that happened to someone else, or "fear" that something could possibly happen to you. Check with the bank to make sure your account information is safe, and/or withdraw the funds and deposit in another bank.
