Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
I filed bankruptcy, but I have not received my discharge. I received a summons for a civil lawsuit from a construction company that completed work on my house. How am I covered under Chapter 7 law or if I am covered?

If you were represented by an attorney (which I hope you were) to file for bankruptcy, you should immediately contact that attorney and inform them of your receipt of the lawsuit. That attorney will be in the best position to help you. If you did not hire an attorney, it is time to get one.
Best of luck.*******The above is for informational purposes and does not create an attorney-client privilege.********
You need to cal your lawyer. The suit may be a violation of the automatic stay and you may even be entitled to legal fees and damages from the company. Regardless of what needs to be done, the one person who can do it will be your lawyer. Call him today. That's vital.
