Business return checks

i another company wrote us a check and the check was stop payment and we contacted the owner of that company check he said that he would clear up the matter and yet 10day later it has not be done what can i legally do to collect on this check

If you can't work payment out with the other company and there is enough money at stake, have a business attorney write a demand letter for the payment. If the other company doesn't respond positively, you may have to file a lawsuit.

I agree with attorney Lyon on the options given to you. However, there is an additional action you can take to resolve this quickly. Writing a bad check may be considered a criminal offense. You can file a criminal complaint against the company. This may also assist in resolving the matter quickly.
