Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Insurance renewals for Agents
Blue Cross changed their existing contract to read that all insurance renewals will cease upon the death of the agent, whether paid directly to the agent or a coporation. Not one of the other major medical insurance carriers have such a policy. All else allow for the transfer of the book of business to another agent. I also learned that Blue Cross has drawn up a different
contract with some agents. Can
this be legal? What about the Fair-trade law?

We don't have a copy of the contracts. Have them reviewed by a lawyer. I have no idea what "fair trade" law you reference, but generally, parties are free to contract on their own, and not follow what others may be doing.
