Non-profit organization
I am trying to start my own theatre troupe. Can one establish an organization that is a benelevolent dictatorship and still be non-profit?

I'm not sure what you mean by "benevolent dictatorship". The standard for tax-exempt tax treatment is set out in the IRS code - charity, education, etc.
