Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Georgia
my question is, If I have a child support payment that is 4,401.00 behind, and unable to pay 255.00 a month, and only work 3 days a week, is there some way to have this payment reduced, or is there a way I can get this droped? I am unable to support a child I am not allowed to see or have contact with. unfortuntly, this child is in Alabama. Also the intrest they are charging is outragouse. They are charging $8,752.78. there is no way that child is getting her share of it. What is the best way to go about this whole issue? As I said before, I am unable to pay $255.00 a week and try to take care of a 6 year old. I can't even affod health insurence on myself much less thak care of a child I don't get to have contact with. Thank you for your time, Miss Black

If the child support order is out of Alabama, you should resubmit this question as an Alabama question. Each state has its own laws and procedures.
In any event, if the order was issued by a Georgia court, you should file a petition to modify child support based upon your change in income.
You said on two occassions that you don't see the child. However, you cannot withhold child support because you don't see your child. Nevetheless, if you have visitation, but the custodial parent refuses to allow you see your son/daughter, simply file a petition for contempt.
