bill collectors

my mother recently passed and i'm being hounded by some bill collector.she had no will or poperty.

can i been forced to pay her pass due bills

No. Simply mail them a death certificate and a short letter saying she died with no assets and tell the creditor to cease contacting you.

Based on the facts you provided and assuming you did not co-sign on any of her debts, you are not responsible for her debts. Next time they call, tell them not to call you again. If you are in Georgia, tape record the conversation and send the do not call command in a certified letter. If they call you again or place the debt on your credit report, you may have a claim against them. Make sure you get the name of the bill collector, the creditor, the name of the caller, and the date and time of each call.
